Lamington National Park, Binna Burra, Queensland – Australia

Traversing beneath the forest canopy, I realise I’m not alone. My feeling of heavy isolation fades as I move among the inhabitants of the damp forest floor. For a moment I marvel at their ability to exist in such dense foliage, where sunlight is a scant luxury. However, after scanning the expanse of this magical place, I realise why it’s no wonder they choose to dwell in such a mystical sanctuary.

I trekked across Lamington National Park for miles in the rain until I eventually reached the end of the track – just in time to witness the mist clear, unveiling, right before my eyes, this spectacular orchestra of ancient trees and rocks, draped in moss, dripping silently on the forest floor.
