If there’s one thing that absolutely seems to be true of life it’s that you have to slow down a bit to make sure you don’t miss the very best parts. One must be willing to wander off the beaten trail once in a while and be open to the unfolding of an experience. That’s when the closest thing we know to magic stands a real chance of happening. Nature can be a bit like this as well. Some of the most poignant beauties lie just out of reach, waiting to be discovered.

This shot was taken last winter in Tasmania’s Mount Field National Park after an unusually heavy snowfall. This little creek flows just off of the majestic Russell Falls, creating a sweet miniature paradise all its own. The green, heady scent of bark and foliage perfumed the chilly air as the gentle music of the ambling creek filled my ears. Peaceful paradise perfected in every way.
