I’m standing upon the uneven earth of One Tree Hill, overlooking the smooth curve of Catseye Beach. I’ve been here for several hours, watching and waiting for the performance to begin. Surrounded by the magnificent Great Barrier Reef, I know the silky smooth waters are teeming with flora of glorious colours, and elegant sea creatures gliding gracefully through the porous reef. But all my eyes can see is what lies above this wonderland beneath the sea– I revel in the beauty of the breaking dawn, capturing the sunlight as it ignites the sapphire waters and kisses the soft sand of the beach below.
