Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, Queensland – Australia

So called because of its smooth transition from day to dusk. Burleigh Heads is a popular surfing destination on the Gold Coast of Queensland. The black basalt rocks that prevent erosion of the headland make for an interesting subject.

The juxtaposition of the sharp rocks jutting out of the smooth mist creates artistic tension, making it difficult to take your eyes off the photograph. As you look closer, you see another contrast – the meeting of nature with the skyline of Surfers Paradise.

I love the relaxing and soothing feeling this photo gives.
